No. Scanning the QR opens the player in the phone's browser. It works on iPhone and Android.
With ScanPlay the video plays on top of the printed picture and moves with it — the picture itself comes alive. A normal QR only opens a video page.
Photos and artwork with detail and contrast: portraits, posters, packaging art. Plain logos, solid colours or very glossy prints track less reliably. The studio warns you if a picture is weak.
