AR Video Printing

Print a photo, card, poster or flex as usual, and make it play a video. With ScanPlay, anyone who points a phone at your print sees your video playing right on it, in the phone browser. No app to install.

Works on iPhone & Android · Opens in the browser · 2 free credits every day

What is AR video printing?

AR (augmented reality) video printing links a video to a printed picture. The phone camera recognises the picture and plays the video exactly on top of it, so the print seems to come alive. ScanPlay does this for any picture you upload: you print the picture the usual way, and ScanPlay plays the video.

What you can print with a video

Why ScanPlay

  • No app: the camera opens in the browser on iPhone and Android
  • About 2 minutes: make it on your phone in the ScanPlay Studio
  • Normal printing: paper, card, flex, vinyl or a photo print, at any print shop
  • A QR for every project: scanning it opens the ScanPlay camera
  • Photo + QR, ready to print: the Studio puts the QR on your photo for you
  • Every scan counted: see how many people watched, in your Studio

How it works

  1. Upload your photo: the picture you will print, like a wedding card, visiting card, poster or flex.
  2. Add your video: ScanPlay links it to the photo and gives you a QR code to print.
  3. Point the phone, it plays: scan the QR or open scanplay.in and point the camera at the print. The video plays right on it, with sound.

See it work: one phone shows the photo, the other points the ScanPlay camera at it, and the video plays on the photo. Want to try on a real print? Open the gallery on a computer and point your phone at any photo with Play a photo.

Questions

Do people need an app to watch the video?

No. They scan the ScanPlay QR printed with your photo, or open scanplay.in and tap Play a photo. The camera opens in the phone browser on iPhone and Android.

Do I need special paper or a special printer?

No. Print it as usual on paper, card, flex, vinyl or a photo print. The video lives on ScanPlay; the print stays a normal print.

Which pictures work best?

Pictures with clear detail and contrast, like people, products, text and patterns. Very plain or very dark pictures are harder for the camera to recognise.

Can I try it free?

Yes. Tap Try free, add a photo and a video and see it play. You get 2 free credits every day to test; a photo made with free credits plays for 24 hours from its first scan.
